World’s First Sony Xperia Z3 Full Teardown Video & Tutorial

Other videos show only selected highlights and since the process is difficult and time consuming have already opened the phone removing the water-proof adhesive making the job seem easier.

Before you start you will need:-

1) A heat gun, hot air gun, or a good hairdryer
2) Plastic tool set inc. spudgers
3) Jewellers screwdriver
4) Suction cup (optionable)
5) Small pliers (optionable)

Spare Parts we recommend:-

1) Front Screen
2) Screen Adhesive
3) New Rear Glass (optionable)

Important Steps:-

Remove the rear glass of the Xperia Z3. The glass is stuck down via adhesive.

Remove the battery connector and battery taking special consideration of the release strap mentioned in the video.

Now we need to remove the antenna / loudspeaker assembly.

We need to remove the LCD connector and flex from the mid frame as well as the bracket and other flex cables which are stuck to the mid-frame.

With the Xperia Z3 screen connector and flex now free we now turn our attention to removing the front screen. Again use a heat source such as a hot air gun to peel the screen away from the mid-frame paying special attention to the ear speaker underneath the Sony logo.

Sony Xperia Z3 Assembly Video

We put the Sony Xperia Z3 back together, and at same time replace the broken screen. We highlight every step of the process using the most professional and fastest methods available.

Please note your Xperia Z3 will not be waterproof after disassembly or repair.

Important Steps:-

Clean the middle frame and ear speaker so the new adhesive will stick.

Apply the new Screen adhesive.

Fit the new screen, paying attention to feeding the flex cable through the mid-frame

We need to re-connect the lcd connector and other connector as well as brackets.

Re-install the antenna / loudspeaker assembly.

Re-connect the battery and its connector. At this point you can test if the screen is working but be careful to insulate your hand by applying the rear glass temporarily.

Finally we need to re-install the back glass. We recommend a new one but it’s optionable. You can use a hot air gun to restick the adhesive.
